Described by Philippe Jaroussky as “a young musician of already great maturity”, and by Anne Gastinel as a “fantastic musician of grand artistic expression”, Spanish cellist Ángela Aguareles (Zaragoza, 2002) currently studies at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin with Prof. Forck, admitted at age 17. At age 19 she received a full scholarship to join the Académie Jaroussky, taking part in the “Promotion Debussy”, studying with A. Gastinel.
She takes part in different festivals internationally, including the Festival de Aix en Provance, TONALi Akademie, Musethica Festival or AIMS, among others, performing regularly throughout Europe. She has performed in halls such as Konzerthaus Berlin, Herkulessaal München, and Staatskapelle Berlin. As a soloist she’s played with orchestras at the Mozart Concert Hall (Spain) and at La Seine Musicale (Paris).
She co-founded the association Metanoia e.V in 2021 in Berlin, and she has received several prizes and scholarships, currently a scholarship holder of Stibet DAAD Stipendium, PROMOS Scholarship and Deutschlandstipendium.
