Born in Milan in 1999, Italian concert pianist Federico Gad Crema is considered one of the most intriguing artists of his generation (“surtout, on y découvre un pianiste remarquable” – Anne Ibos-Augé, Diapason Magazine). Internationally recognized for his emotionally charged interpretations, subtle sensitivity, and supreme artistic depth, he has already performed at some of the most prestigious halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall (New York City, USA), Teatro alla Scala (Milan, Italy), Philharmonie de Paris (France), and Teatro Castro Alves (Salvador de Bahia, Brazil).
Mr. Crema’s unique ability to capture audiences all over the world, from France to Japan and from Greece to the USA, has led him to an impressive international career both as a soloist and as a recitalist, attaining remarkable achievements such as his solo debuts at Teatro alla Scala playing Mozart Piano Concerto n.23 K488, and at Grande Salle Boulez at the Philharmonie de Paris playing Shostakovich Piano Concerto n.2 op.102. He regularly performs alongside world-famous conductors like David Coleman, Kimbo Ishii, Ricardo Castro, Sebastian Lang-Lessing, Giuseppe Mengoli, and Philippe Gérard, to name a few, and top orchestras such as Orchestra dell’Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, Neojiba Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra of Cannes, “OSCoM” Symphonic Orchestra of Milan, New Mexico Philharmonic Orchestra, and the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra, among many others.
Founder and Artistic Director of the Oropa Music Festival, in 2023 he created the Peace Orchestra Project, an inclusive program whose main goal is to give a renewed purpose to the symphonic orchestra and to use it as a platform for social transformation, peace, and integration in our society, through the power of music.
Winner of numerous prestigious international piano competitions in Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Greece and the USA, Mr. Crema has been awarded 1st Prize and special prize at the renowned CIAD International Piano Competition, 3rd Prize and Special Prize at the Casagrande International Piano Competition in 2019, and 2nd Prize, Best Contemporary Piece Award and Audience Award at the Olga Kern International Piano Competition the same year.
In 2017 he began an important collaboration with the French piano star Jean-Yves Thibaudet, performing at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles. Other significant collaborations include those with Russian pianist Konstantin Bogino, South African composer David Earl, French violinist Renaud Capuçon, and an international tour with legendary Argentinian pianist Martha Argerich.
After graduating summa cum laude from the G. Verdi Conservatory of Music in Milan, he continued his studies at the prestigious Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles.
In 2021 he obtained his first Master’s Degree at the Conservatory of Music in Milan with high honors, 110 cum laude and special mention, and in 2023 he obtained his second Master’s Degree at the prestigious Haute École de Musique de Genève in Switzerland. He is currently mentored by Kirill Gerstein in Berlin, Germany.
